Chang, who is the product manager of Windows Phone department confirmed that they will continue to sell, ship and support Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. "We think of this OS as an extension … of our scope," Chang said. "I wouldn’t say we are building a consumer phone at the expense of our heritage [of supporting] work productivity. We are taking that and adding to it features that include entertainment and a focus on a new experience. Windows Mobile was all about productivity, but we had relied on someone else to deliver a great experience. Not anymore." This means that manufactures will be allowed to sell WM 6.5 along with phones running Windows Phone 7 [via computerworld] [...]

President of HTC’s North American division said today in an interview with Forbes that they are extremely pleased with the first-day sales of the HTC HD2. This is very interesting as people buying HD 2 already know that phones running Windows Phone 7 will be launched at the end of this year and HTC HD2 will not be getting an upgrade to the latest and greatest mobile OS of all time. Basically, the HTC HD2 is a Windows Mobile 6.5 device with a nice, chick UI slapped-on that seems to be doing a decent job in masquerading the dull UI of Windows Mobile 6.x. Here are a couple of new Office screenshots which clearly show that Microsoft still cares about businessmen even though the Windows Phone 7 will be a consumer-oriented device. Everything looks much more finger friendly than the Windows Mobile 6.5 [via m8cool] (Chinese)
Once this software manages to make its way onto European handsets, you can bet that retailers like Phones 4u will be the first to get their hands on it. [...]

Just like the Sony Vaio P, the Viliv S10 Blade is one pricey piece of technology. Powered by the Z-series CPU, the Viliv S10 Blade has a nice 10.1-inch display and high resolution touchscreen that sports a handsome resolution of 1366x768. Read the full Viliv S10 Blade review [...]

We have been able to spot the amazing HTC Max 4G running Windows Mobile 6.5. Two years back, when the Max 4G made its debut, it originally came with Windows Mobile 6.1 since there was no 6.5 back then. Anyway, here goes the pictures: It comes with a nice WVGA 3.8-inch display with 528MHz Qualcomm processor which delivers good-enough everyday performance. [via m8cool] (Chinese) [...]
