WP7 Phones in 2011 from Acer
Ever since September, a lot of people have been waiting for Acer to start going into the WP7 mode. Looks like it will be possible in 2011 but not soon enough. Acer announced that they are on the works for the Windows Phone 7 handsets but it is still unclear when exactly it will be in 2011. They are planning on creating WP7 phones hand in hand with the Android phones. The news was released by the Smart Handheld Business Group or SHBG from Acer, Aymar de Lencquesaing. It is so much better if more and more companies venture forth with the WP7 as it will really increase its presence and prominence. Especially, since Christy Wyatt of Motorola announced moving to Android.
Acer set to race in mobile industry
One of the biggest computer manufacturer is set to clash with the smartphone makers by producing about 2.5 million mobiles in 2010. With plans to explore into China as its growth strategy, the corporation is very ambitious to have its place in world’s top five smartphone makers.
The company who has its subsidiaries in Asia, Australia, Europe and others wants to ship 20 million smartphones per year by 2014. Aymar de Lencquesaing, the president of Acer surely faces a tough game from HTC, having similar strategies.

ACER F900 Homescreen Screenshots!
Acer launched F900 last month and it captured the attention of whole world with its huge 3.8-inch screen. Acer is already the king in the netbook world even though they arrived late in the game. Now they have their focus in becoming the number one Windows Mobile manufacture. Last month, they came out with 4 new smartphones, each of different form factor. The Acer has done a great work in revamping the ‘boring’ looks of Windows Mobile.
PocketPC.ch has posted a lot of screenshots of the F900 that show how hard Acer has worked to make the interface finger-friendly. Here are some screens of the Acer F900:
This is the main screen that you see immediately after turning the F900 on. It shows you the time, data, missed calls and unread SMSes. It looks a lot like an office desk.
Here is a screenshot of quick launch tab
Photo tab is strikingly similar to the one found on the HTC TOUCH HD. Swipe the finger up to go the next image
Comm Manager is also HTC-like
Contacts TAB
This clearly shows that Acer has a done a wonderful job in making the interface unique and functional at the same time. Since, Microsoft is a little slow in giving the consumers what they want, it the companies that have to come ahead in revamping the interface as user-friendly as possible.

The Acer F900 should soon be available from European retailers such as Dialaphone.
ACER M900 gets pictured
Mobilitysite have got hold of the Acer M900 and it surely is huge when compared to already-bulky HTC TOUCH PRO.
The ACER M900 is a Windows Mobile phone running 6.1 OS. It comes with a huge 3.8-inch WVGA display. Clearly, it is bound to give some stiff competition to the HTC TOUCH PRO 2, which also has a keyboard and WVGA display. However, it has smaller display size, 3.6-inch compared to 3.8-inch of M900. Does the 0.2-inch make a difference in real world use? Yes, they do as everything appears more bigger and whole system becomes more finger-friendly.
