There were murmurs of discontent a while back when it was forecast the new Windows Phone Skype app would not work on low-RAM devices, but rumours suggest the app is running sweetly on the upcoming Nokia Lumia 610 entry-level handset.

Nokia says there were ‘challenges early on’ but that the app will be fully functional when the Lumia 610 launches in the Asian market at the end of this month.

Sesame Street has reached the Windows Phone Marketplace as a trio of apps have been launched featuring the characters that kids the world over know and love. The number of Windows Phones Apple developers has doubled in just five months, according to All About Windows Phone. The Windows Phone Marketplace now offers more than 80,000 apps, with 340 new apps added every day. As of April 1, twenty thousand developers had published 82,234 apps in the Windows Marketplace. The apps count stood at 50,000 on Dec 27 2011, and the 60,000 milestone was passed on Jan 22, and 70,000 on Feb 23. I'm not so brilliant at math, but it seems the pace or releases is slowing by those figures. AT&T's new Mobile Transfer app lets users transfer 2GB of content from an old AT&T handset to a current Windows Phone device, whether that content is contacts, multimedia files or anything else. The app that I continually use on my Windows Phone is my dictionary. There are good dictionary apps out there but I keep searching for a new one that will offer new features. The SilverDict application is a dictionary that is easy to use and dependable. It works with the open source StarDict program.
