According to the folks at Tech Crunch, Microsoft will be spending around 400 million dollars on the marketing alone at the launch of Windows Phone 7.

This, however, does not include the millions that has already been committed to pay for the non-recurring engineering costs that help to lower the development costs for the OEMs and handset manufactures.
