China Mobile app store – taking 50% of total developer’s revenue!

China Mobile is launching its own Windows Mobile AppStore very soon. However, compared to other application stores who just take 30% of total revenue, they will be taking away 50% of the total revenue generated by the developer.

The Mobile Market is now being developed by the China Mobile-controlled Aspire Technologies and China Mobile’s Guangdong branch, the source said. It is likely to go live in September, almost certainly making it the world’s first carrier-operated storefront. UK-based Vodafone has planned to open a store by year-end.
