China Mobile integrates Windows Mobile on OMS 2.0 OS

The OMS 2.0 (Open Mobile System), an Operating System by China Mobile is speculated to cover Windows Mobile and Symbian APIs (Application Programming Interface) along with Android platform. The move is expected to come as an answer to its major competitor, iPhone.

China Mobile, which is already into development of OMSs is popular for its Android phones. The company has been very well known for its mobile network and subscribers. In a scenario where many companies are dumping Windows phone, the move acts as a kind of Windows Phone Recovery.

“China Mobile Ltd. (SEHK: 0941; NYSE: CHL) has upgraded its OMS (Open Mobile System) to 2.0 version, which is compatible with technologies such as SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), Windows Mobile API, and voice recognition and generation.”
