Windows Phone 7 has now officially hit “release to manufacturing” stage. The OS has been finalized and is now being delivered to the OEMs that will continue their work of integrating the software with the hardware.

The WP7 devices are expected to make their debut by the holiday season this year. According to the Terry Myerson, president of Windows Phone Engineering, WP7 is the most thoroughly tested mobile OS Microsoft has ever released.
