HTC HD Mini Review
Considering HTC HD and HTC HD2 have been quite a hit with the masses, a ‘mini’ version of the former just gives a new outlook to the windows phones. HTC HD Mini is one of the three phones announced at MWC 2010.
Since called as ‘Mini,’ you can’t really expect it to be a high end device with everything you aspire from the new age windows phones. The 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen phone is empowered with the Windows Mobile 6.5.3.

We weren’t brave enough to open the phone to see the yellow colored hardware as shown in the preview. Turning now to the camera. The 5MP camera has autofocus but no flash support.
According to engadget, The device measures 103.8mm x 57mm x 11.7mm which is quite comfortable to carry in since it is not too thin or too bulky. About the design, it is fairly attractive.
There is a sensitive ringer as well. It identifies the place where your phone is and slows down the volume of ring if needed. The weather in your location gets displayed on your screen with a relevant animation that’s quite amazing to watch.
What is a major attraction is the 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen providing more beauty to the Mini. Special Integration with twitter is quite exciting for twitter lovers. There is an option to provide shortcuts to your favourite websites, applications, etc.
The panels on the touchscreen are a bit shaky. They respond too slow sometimes. The Sense UI performs excellently while browsing through music. You even have the option of playing the tracks on the locked phone. The real album art is browsed automatically to make your library more beautiful.
The multi-touch phone’s keyboard performs just average. A bit of HTC HD2 traces are here and there but HD2 still has something more to look in for. The buttons at the bottom are not touch sensitive. The Zoom in and Zoom out functions are quite comfortable.
What is positive about HTC HD Mini is its Sense UI and touchscreen. What is not that good is Windows Mobile 6.5.3, which is now called as the ‘classic’ OS whose future is quite bleak. The phone is speculated to shipped in beginning of Q2 in Europe and Asia.
