WinMob phones may get a makeover if the claims of the duo-Samsung and Intrinsity came out to be true. The corporations are claiming to be the developers of the fastest mobile processor core implementation of the dual issue ARM Cortex-A8 processor architecture.
Here are some of the ingredients of 45nm chip coded as Hummingbird:
- Modifiable L2 memory cache
- Delivers 2000 DMIPS at 1 GHz
- Features an ARM NEON multimedia extension
- Less Power consumption
- Data & instruction cache of 32KB
- High operating clock performance
The companies are applying the Multiple Voltage domain and Multi-frequency design technology to actualize its dream of speedier, smarter processors with a better battery life. With many notorious comments about WinMob phones being made with respect to the contemporary iPhones, the new processor can surely act as a refreshment.

That looks great and all, but will the battery life royally suck like Touch Pro/Touch Diamond, and others?
Samsung Cortex 600mhz is being used in iPhone 3Gs and it has pretty nice battery life. We all just hope that HTC bundles decent drivers with it.
