Samsung Omnia 2 and Windows Mobile 6.5, better and balmy
Now here’s a video below by ai.rs blog showing the Samsung Omnia 2 running the Touchwiz interface and the new OS- Windows Mobile 6.5. The 6.5 looks improved on the Samsung with some of its critical appraisal carefully looked after. Samsung is in for some smart job here.

OMNIA II coming to US: Facebook confirmation
Now comes the official confirmation on the facebook as well. The Samsung Omnia II US lovers can speculate to see the device by the end of this year. Verizon is one carrier on the priority list.

Verizon’s take on Omnia II
We know Samsung Omnia 2 will have a new carrier- Verizon and it is speculated not to have too much of alterations when kept in line with the original one. A 1500 mAh battery is mentioned on the official USA page for now.
The triangular button gets all the attention that gets shied away in the Verizon’s version and metamorphoses into shield design found in B900 (South Korea). Let’s see what Samsung has next in store for Omnia lovers.

Windows Mobile 6.5 at Samsung Omnia, HTC needs a ‘serious’ inspiration
The folks at Samsung hold a surprise- a Windows Mobile 6.5, surely a music to the ears. Now the news comes from a Dutch customer claiming to receive an official e-mail from Samsung regarding the confirmation of the soon-to-be released OS on the Samsung Omnia i900. No word on the release date yet, but the whole approach seems very pragmatic as against HTC. Have a glance at what a user from samsung-omnia.org got:
“In your email you ask the question if Windows Mobile 6.5 will be released for the omnia. We can confirm that this is coming, however the exact release date is not known yet, therefore we advice you to keep an eye on www.samsungmobile.com.”
Though free update will be available for some of the HTC smartphones, still the Samsung move is much appreciated.

Another build for Windows Mobile 6.5 out: Build 23047
Previously, it was build 23047 making the news that majorly introduced bottom bar buttons displayed as icons replacing the textual ones. The new leaked Build 23049, shows improvement in the buttons again with some sharper looks. Here is the summary:
- Large finger friendly checkboxes and radio buttons.
- Visual update to the messaging app to make it more finger friendly.
- Visual update to the rotatable list or tabs to make it look more brighter and polished.
- More blue has been added to the bottom bar when navigating through sub-menus. It remains transparent on the home screen.
- More precise and smoother scrolling.
- Numerous other bug fixes.
It’s available for HTC Touch HD, Touch Pro, Pro2, Diamond, Diamond 2, XPERIA X1, Samsung Omnia i900 and others. Let’s see what the next build holds for us.
