TOUCH HD 2 dumps the Windows Mobile, catches Android

With many alternatives for the OSs, it becomes very inquisitive when two versions of a smartphone are enabled with different Operating Systems. The latest we get to hear is HTC TOUCH HD 2 that turns a deaf ear to the Windows Mobile and turns its head towards Android.

The Touch HD that had a launch with Windows Mobile 6.1 professional goes for a surprise with Android coming in and refuting the Windows Mobile 6.5. Here are some of the specs speculated:

  • Processor: 628MHz Qualcomm chip   
  • Faster than the original version
  • 3.8 inch touchscreen with 480X800 resolution

The reasons for ignorance of the to-be-launched Windows Mobile 6.5 still needs to get cleared.The official word on price and other features is still awaited.

Qualcomm litigated for occupying the name ‘Smartbook’

It has been quite a while we told you that people at Qualcomm claim that Toshiba TG01 is the first ‘Smartbook’, a netbook permanently connected to the internet. Now the twist in the tale is that Qualcomm has received a restraining order in Germany from a district Court.

The epicenter is the Smartphone AG whose CEO, Dirk Pick feels that their brand has been misused by the giant.  A non-compliance can cause arrest or a 250,000 euros fine to the company.

HTC Leo : A sneak peak

Keeping the HTC handset’s specs under wraps have become quite a difficult job of late. The latest to get hold of this is HTC Leo. Here are some of the glances of the smartphone’s ingredients: 5MP autofocus camera, 3.5mm audio jack, Windows Mob 6.5, 121X67X11mm and 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution. Sprint ready to ‘carry’ HTC HERO

Its confirmed – after HTC Pro 2, its turn of the Hero to enter in. Yes, Dan Hesse, the CEO of Sprint made the official approval to launch their first Android – the HTC Hero. After much speculations about Palm Pre, the CEO remarked that the company was delighted to get their hands on the second installment of the Google OS and was excited to launch it at primetime. Here are some of the specs of the G-sensor phone:

  • The ‘Scenes’ feature
  • 528MHz Qualcomm Processor
  • 5.0MP autofocus camera

Qualcomm’s Toshiba TG01 has been named the first ‘Smartbook’ by its Senior Director of Marketing and Development in an interview. He coined up this inquisitive word Smartbook saying that it is something that's an amalgam of a powerful notebook permanently connected to the internet.
