Verizon lands up at $199 with its Touch Pro 2 on 9/11

Now here’s a news straight from the horse’s mouth. It’s Verizon that’s ready to battle in the race with its version of HTC Touch Pro 2 that includes the tempting 3.5mm headphone jack. The price quoted is $199 with a $100 rebate and can get on your hands from Sep 11. Sprint and T-mobile should revise their competitive strategies for now.

The smartphone that has GPS and WiFi connectivity is available both online and in stores. The OS is still Windows Mobile 6.1 professional. The upgrad to Windows Mobile 6.5 cannot be seen until next month when the all new version gets on floors. The phone is inclusive of 288MB RAM and 512MB ROM. HTC Mega rumors can relax for now. The official announcement was made in Taiwan which says that Mega will be the new HTC Touch 2. The new and the first Windows Phone will be revealed somewhere near Oct 6, which corresponds with the launch of the all new OS Windows Mobile 6.5. The unveil is speculated to take place in European and Asian markets and still needs to be verified for a final word on other info like price.

Peter Chou, CEO, HTC Corporation says,”The HTC Touch2 delivers a familiar touch experience that millions of people have come to expect and rely on from HTC in their daily lives. Whether it’s making a call, checking in with a friend or simply responding to an important email, the HTC Touch2 puts you in touch and in control.”

Verizon’s database gets a leak: Pro 2 and Omnia II show up

It’s like Verizon’s having a tough time keeping its plans under wraps. Now Phonearena is here to let the ‘cats’ out of bag and these include- Touch pro 2, Samsung Omnia II coded as XV6875 and SCHI920DAV respectively. That’s not all, the list goes up to four more handsets including Convoy U640, RIM Blackberry Storm 2, and two that of Palm.

The news spread out from the database of Verizon’s inventory control system. Pricing and availability issues are still to be discovered. Let’s see when the folks at Verizon make the official word.

All the gossip-mongers can have rest for a while. The Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2 gets an unveil – yes, its Aug 12 and you can have your hands on the smartphone ‘officially’ now. Touching the US land for the first time, T-mobile may disappoint its customers without offering the 3.5mm headphone jack(though its competitors like Verizon are very much into it). The T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 can be in your hands on Aug 12 at a price of $400 in a one year contract. The two-year contract will land you with a contract of $349.99. The specs are not pretty much clear, but the company is sure to make its presence felt in US and have a memorable debut.

After much chitchat about Sprint, Verizon, the next carrier on the road is AT&T that has something interesting to share. The HTC Touch Pro 2 is supposed to be coded as Tilt 2, a successor of TyTN II. The air’s not clear whether the Tilt 2 will sport a 3.5mm headphone jack or not. Now below is a pic showing AT&T possibly running Windows Mobile 6.5.

The trouble in the keyboard has been fixed up by the folks at AT&T and the smartphone's ready to get on the floors. But when?We’ll tell you when the box opens. The news spread from the Supply Chain Management people of HTC which have coded the Diamond 2 and Pro 2 as the XV6975 and the XV6875.
