Chang, who is the product manager of Windows Phone department confirmed that they will continue to sell, ship and support Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. "We think of this OS as an extension … of our scope," Chang said. "I wouldn’t say we are building a consumer phone at the expense of our heritage [of supporting] work productivity. We are taking that and adding to it features that include entertainment and a focus on a new experience. Windows Mobile was all about productivity, but we had relied on someone else to deliver a great experience. Not anymore." Look’s like folks at Microsoft are doing the SWOT analysis of late because they have become very serious with their competitor’s strategy. LG's S-Class UI is designed to make smartphones easier to use while still delivering the advanced, familiar capabilities of Windows Mobile. Built-around a 3D cube layout, the S-Class UI eliminates nested menus wherever possible, providing more direct access to features and applications. A simple flick of a finger rotates the cube so that any one of its five faces can be accessed instantly.

Windows Mobile 6.5 is the second dot upgrade to the Windows Mobile 6. The OS is still based on Windows CE 5, so do not expect huge changes.
