google-maps-mobile-starring

The new version of Google maps is here. It mainly features easy sync of your Windows phone(or Symbian) with the desktop. The places you star on Google maps on your desktop get starred in your mobile counterpart too(and vice versa), thus making it easy to identify the addresses, e-mails, contacts and send the address of the location to others through an SMS.

For getting the version 3.3 on your mobile, visit m.google.com/maps from your phone or download the CAB file from here.

WindowsMobile6.5Build23502COM51

After Build 23081, the next one that‘s looked upon is Build 23502 experienced by htcpedia. Have a glimpse at the changes in Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23502 (COM5):

  • Faster, stable and more responsive than any of the previously leaked COM3 and COM4 Builds.
  • Bottom taskbar color is changed to Vista-like dark blue.
  • Some GUI fixes for Volume Control.
  • Graphically enhanced Scrollbars and checkboxes.
  • Graphically enhanced buttons throughout the operating system.
  • New and improved Contacts app which was first seen in Build 23412 (COM3 Branch).
  • Kinetic flow (ala iPhone) at the start and end of any list view like in Contacts and File Explorer has been removed which is kind of a step down in my honest opinion

  • Improved: The profile window will show the date on which a user joined Twitter (this can be useful when deciding whether to follow someone).

  • Improved: Added "My Profile" (under the Tools menu) to quickly check your own profile.

  • Improved: URL shortening will use http://j.mp instead of Bit.ly, which will give you 2 extra characters. (Note: j.mp is part of Bit.ly)

The software will cost $4.95 to the older OS users. And the 14-day trial is also available for those wanting to try it first. Get all the details here.
