The Windows Phone marketplace continues to expand – it recently passed the 70,000 app mark, with 300 new apps being launched every day. Microsoft’s CEO for Greater China, Simon Leung, revealed that the company plans to launch a total of 63 markets, which will please the 100,000 Windows Phone developers currently registered with Microsoft. In a move to further encourage developers to write for the platform, Microsoft has cut the certification process to just three days. The widespread success of the Nokia Lumia 800 around the globe and the rush of manufactureres now embracing the Windows Phone ecosystem should ensure even faster growth in the Windows Phone Marketplace in time for the launch of Window Phone 8, codenamed Apollo, at the end of the year.

It’s getting on for six months now since Apple launched their Siri voice assistant as the flagship app of the iPhone 4S. Since then a large number of Siri-like apps have appeared on Android. Windows Phone 7 users needn’t feel left out though – Ask Ziggy is the voice-based Windows version of Apple’s Siri assistant app – Ziggy can answer questions or search the web and allows users to call, text or email a contact, as well as updating your status on Facebook, Twitter, or Windows Live. WP7 fans will be delighted to know that Ask Ziggy is completely free and doesn’t contain any bothersome ads, either. Available from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Kamasutra is a Windows Phone 7 app that will inspire your utmost intimacy and libido with your partner. It will motivate you and your partner to experience love with zest. Discover new sex positions from Kama Sutra. Kamasutra is now available for Windows Phone 7. Much like iOS it allows you to flick between pages with your finger. Pivot page control is easy and instinctive. All functionality of the app is same with exception of few that WP7-platform SDK has not yet made possible, such as in-app-purchases for new positions. This should soon become available and will be offered as free upgrade. The trial offer is free but offers fewer love making positions. Download Kamasutra at your zune, or at iTunes.

There are some very interesting questions that were raised recently about the Windows Phone 7. Was it outsold by Windows Mobile in Q4? Right now, it is hard to make judgments because no official numbers are out but according to some information, the company shipped 2 million units of Windows Phone 7 in the 4th quarter and not all of those are considered as sales. In the second quarter, Windows Mobile sold more than 3 million units and at the 3rd Quarter the WM6.5 units sold were more than 2 million. If that is the trend, that would mean something is up and the old one is still outshining the Windows Phone 7.
