The concept

Square off is one of those invasion stories where a bunch of aliens were set to invade planet Earth. Certain scientists take some of his Brain Cells and infuse them with the Alien DNA. The Square creature and he strapped a rocket pack on it and a new defender was born. It is a game that you should not take that seriously. You can definitely see its lighthearted appeal with the cartoon imagery set on a 3D background. The game is a twin stick shooter. You can say that it is a much simpler format of the Rocket Riot. According to the level artist, Adam Matera, they aimed to the WP7 platform since they just released the game on a very large platform which is the Xbox Live Indie Games. They aim to go for a smaller platform before starting over with a new big game. Since the Market place has been released for the Windows Phone 7, Matera stated that it is a fantastic opportunity to try out a new platform which is mobile game development. As said, the Square off game will include the single player level version from Xbox and it will be complete with all the scoreboards and statistics. The survival mode is a test of stamina against the alien forces. The controls have been redesigned and optimized for the purpose of mobile gaming. The company still aims to retain the overall look and feel but in a more compact screen environment.
