The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is just a few days away and the rumors have started flashing in. Some rumors are not a surprise and indeed positive, while some of them may disappoint those waiting eagerly for the OS to release. Have a look at some of the highlights:
The positives:
- Xbox compatibility
- Zune like interface
- Zune may absorb ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center
- A strong competition to iPhone 3G in terms of speed and experience
The negatives:
- Lack of Multi tasking : That’s a bit absurd considering the Windows Phones have been highlighted every time with this feature of ‘multi-tasking’ with its counterparts like iPhone. Its a big NO.
- Absence of customization: If the rumors hold true, you may lose out on having the home screens customized.
- Installation of apps : Every app may be installed through a specific software like Windows Mobile Marketplace. The backward integration with the older applications may be lost
- No Flash support
The Windows Mobile 7 is conjectured to be showcased at the MWC starting from Feb 15. So, the truth is about to be revealed. The hardware is supposed to be shipped in September and hence, the official release may be in the Q4 of 2010.
